Wilderness Safaris have organised a set itinerary where you can stay in some of the most luxurious camps for a very reasonable price. The trip includes 9 nights accommodation (Imagine Africa have included an extra night complimentary), spans 3 countries and is currently discounted by just over £1000 per person. The itinerary is a combination of using Wilderness permanent camps all of which are in private concessions offering a very intimate and uninterrupetd game viewing experience with the superb Sefofane air service providing seamless connections and no 'dead legs'. The trip starts in Maun and ends up in Livingstone (or vice versa) and visits include - The Kalahari Desert, The Okavango Delta, The Caprivi Strip/Linyanti Swamp and Livingstone for Victoria Falls. See dates and prices below – the whole safari is on an all inclusive basis.

Day 1 – fly from London to Johannesburg with British Airways.

Day 2, 3 & 4 – Fly from Johannesburg to Maun where you will connect with a light aircraft down to The Kalahari Desert to stay at The Wilderness Kalahari Plains Camp. Stay here for 3 nights in luxury en suite walk in tents.

The big game includes the sensational black-maned Kalahari lion, as well as one of the highest concentrations of cheetah in southern Africa, leopard, brown hyaena and even caracal. Small predators include meerkats (suricates), Cape fox, honey badger, black-backed jackal and a myriad of mongoose species. General game viewing is fantastic and this is a premium desert game location year round.

Day 5 & 6 – After a final game drive in The Kalahari you will be flown into The Okavango Delta to stay at one of two Wilderness Camps (Xigera, Jacana) and provides a superb wet Delta experience. You are here for 2 nights. A more child friendly camp can be used for families (Seba).

Activities at the two camps feature excursions on the water in both mekoro and motor boats as well as game drives. Birding is excellent, with specials like Pel’s Fishing-Owl, Slaty Egret and Wattled Crane to be found. In contrast to the Central Kalahari, game viewing here features the water-adapted red lechwe, occasionally amphibious elephant and the small herds of tsessebe and greater kudu resident on the larger islands. Predators such as lion and leopard may be encountered.

Day 7 & 8 – The next stop is a flight to northern Botswana and then across the most remote border post you will encounter followed by a short boat journey into The Caprivi Strip in Namibia. You will be staying at Lianshulu Lodge for the next 2 nights.

Many typical savannah species occur in the area including buffalo, zebra, wildebeest and waterbuck with elephant and hippo being particularly abundant. Predators are sometimes encountered and around 400 bird species have been recorded in the East Caprivi. Hippo, crocodiles and fish such as bream, tigerfish and catfish can be seen from the lodge’s deck.

Day 9 & 10 – This morning you are driven from Lianshulu in Namibia into Zambia to stay on the banks of The Zambezi above Victoria Falls. You will stay for 2 nights at either The River Club or the brand new tented Toka Leya. Activities included at both game drives, river cruises and fishing.

Other extra activities on offer in the area at an additional charge include sunset cruises, helicopter flights, micro-lighting, canoeing, jet boating, white water rafting amongst others. There is also the sundowner cruise along the Zambezi, a breakfast on Livingstone Island, the Wellness Centre which also has a mini gymnasium, sauna and Jacuzzi. Finally and awesomely there is the Lunar Rainbow trip, a spectacle of a myriad rainbows filtering through the spray in the light of a full moon. (This is only from March to June when the Falls are in spate.)

Day 11 – Mid morning you are driven back to Livingstone Airport where you will catch your lunchtime flight to Johannesburg which will connect with your overnight British Airways flight to London.

This itinerary is available for travel now until 31st of May and from the start of September to the end of November.

The trip is priced at £3400 per person based on 2 people sharing and includes international flights from London Heathrow to Maun via Johannesburg all transfers (air and road) all game drives and all food and all drinks (except premium brands).

Flights are based on the cheapest fares available at the moment and prices are subject to change.
