Itinerary

Days 1 & 2: Erongo Wilderness Lodge, dinner & breakfast included
On arrival in Windhoek collect your hire car (Nissaan X TRail or similar) and head about 2 hours north of the capital to Erongo. The lodge is set in the foothills of the Erongo Mountains on the edge of the enormous Erongo Crater.  A small, 10-room owner managed lodge, complete with magnificent views, well stocked bar and good wine cellar.  The main attraction here is the stunning great outdoors - walking is superb and there are guided walks offered everyday and the birdlife is also superb.

Days 3 & 4:  Cornerstone Guest House, Swakopmund, breakfast included
Head west to the coast and the town of Swakopmund. The town itself is a fascinating and intriguing resort town, complete with German wooden architecture, monuments, historic buildings, well maintained gardens and palm lined avenues, coffee bars and great seafood restaurants. 

Swakopmund is the adventure centre of Southern Africa offering a large number of activities such as sand boarding, tandem parachuting, fishing & quad biking which can be arranged prior to arrival.  Alternatively, a half day boat cruise from Walvis Bay may offer the opportunity to see dolphins, fur seals and many species of marine birds.

Days 5 & 6:  Desert Homestead, dinner & breakfast included
Head south to the Namib Desert to the Desert Homestead which is beautifully decorated with a bar, restaurant and pool, and optional horse riding or nature drives.  The lodge is designed in a rustic, farm style and is located just 27km from the entrance to Sesriem & Sossusvlei.  Enjoy home cooked meals and friendly service.  

We highly recomend a guided tour of the National Park area of Sesriem and onwards towards Sossusvlei, around 70km from the Park entrance.  The entrance opens at sunrise and this is the best time of day to see the dunes. Enjoy the amazing scenery of the desert, and maybe take a short walk to Deadvlei, a bizarre collection of ancient camelthorn trees, or climb the nearby dunes.  Return to Sesriem and perhaps take a look at Sesriem Canyon before returning to the lodge. 
 
Day 7:   River Crossing, Windhoek, breakfast included
 It is a 5 hour drive back to Windhoek where you will overnight at the River Crossing. The lodge opened on the 1st of November 2009, and offers accommodation on a pristine game farm a mere 5 minutes from the heart of Windhoek. Each room has a magnificent view across the Aus Mountains. The twenty chalets rediscover the nuances of a bygone era of farm life and offer the discerning traveller all the modern amenities. River Crossing also offers a host of activities including game drives, horse riding, guided or self guided walks and mountain biking.
 
Days 8, 9 & 10: Moremi Crossing, Okavango Delta, all meals & activities included.
Take an inclusive transfer to Windhoek International Airport today in time to connect with your flight to Maun.  Upon arrival at Maun Airport you will meet your pilot and transfer by light aircraft to Moremi Crossing, a 20 minute low level journey.  As you fly over the Delta you can see the intricate twisting and turning of the waterways and the ever-changing colours as dry land meets Delta. 

Accommodation is provided in 16 East African style safari tents with en-suite bathrooms and a private veranda. Your days will be spent exploring the area in traditional dug-out canoes in search of wildlife and walks on nearby islands with your poler/guide.  Please note that mokoro activities may be restricted during January to May due to low water levels, however traditional game viewing by vehicle is also offered.
 
Days 11, 12 & 13: Pom Pom Camp, all meals & activities included
This beautiful camp is located on Pom Pom Island in a private concession situated in the heart of the Okavango Delta.  The area lies on the western boundary of the Moremi Game Reserve and offers superb Okavango scenery and a true Okavango wilderness experience.
 
Accommodation consists of nine luxury safari tents in true traditional safari style, all en-suite. Activities include game drives, night drives, mokoro trips and walks.  Game viewing is of the best offered in the Delta. Guests have the opportunity of seeing all major predators, a variety of big game and plains game, as well as an abundance of bird life. 
 
Day 14:  Fly out of Maun
Fly back to Maun today by light aircraft and connect with your onward flight to Johannesburg.
