Abu Camp - Safari holidays

Abu Camp
Elephant back Safari
Abu Camp is situated in half a million acres of private reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. The camp accommodates up to ten guests in five vast tents raised on teak decks overlooking a lagoon. The rooms are exquisitely furnished with mahogany four poster beds, free standing copper baths, and have full en-suite facilities. The dining and bar areas are on raised wooden decks that wind around African ebony and sycamore trees. The lounge area has beautiful big sofas, with a breathtaking view over the lagoon and also features a well-stocked library and a study.

Despite the luxurious nature of the camp, its unrivalled location, and superb game viewing, it is the presence of a resident elephant family that has brought Abu's to worldwide renown. Guests at Abu Camp are able to ride with an elephant family through the bush, offering a breathtaking and completely unique perspective on the wildlife around you. The twelve elephants range in age from 6 months to 40 years, and being able to travel and interact with them is unquestionably an experience of a lifetime. Night time and day time game drives, walks and mokoro trips are also possible.

For anyone looking for the ultimate in bush luxury and exclusivity, the Elephant House is a two bedroom house five minutes away from the main camp. It can accommodate up to four guests, and comes complete with private guide, vehicle and swimming pool.

Seba Camp is Abu's sister camp which welcomes families and is in the same concession. You are not allowed to ride the elephants but there is an elephant researcher on site with whom you can go out into the field with. Email us for more details on Seba Camp.
