Chitabe Camp
Chitabe Camp is a Classic Wilderness Camp situated in a private concession area on a beautiful island in the south-east of the Okavango Delta. Chitabe is hidden amongst the trees, and has eight spacious Meru-style tents which are built on elevated wooden decks. Each tent has twin beds, en-suite facilities and both indoor and outdoor showers. The Chitabe concession is made up of a variety of habitats, from open floodplains, waterways, marshlands, dry acacia, mopane woodland, riverine areas and open grasslands. This incredible diverse ecosystem supports an abundance of wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra and a whole host of plains game. Chitabe also offers good chances of wild dog sightings (the second most endangered carnivore in the world).
Activities at Chitabe include day and night game drives in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles, game walks, birdwatching, hide sits and sleep outs. Night drives provide opportunities to see nocturnal creatures such as civet, serval, genet, porcupine and aardwolf.
