Duba Plains
Duba Plains is a Classic Wilderness Camp in the furthermost reaches of Botswana's Okavango Delta.
Duba Plains consists of 6 spacious tents, each with an en-suite bathroom, outside shower and a verandah overlooking the floodplain. The dining room and bar area is raised on platforms along with a swimming pool, all which afford magnificent views over the Okavango floodplains.
Duba Plains is best known for its lion and buffalo interacton - people visit from all over the world for a chance to witness first hand this unique interaction between predator and prey. This area has prolific buffalo and lion, herds of elephant feed on the islands and hippo concentrate in the deeper channels. This is also a good place to see the world's fastest antelope - the tsessebe along with its cousin the ungainly wildebeest. Red lechwe can be found along the fringes of these Okavango floodplains.
The impressive and abundant birdlife in the Duba Plains concession incudes Okavango specials such as Rosy-throated Longclaw, Slaty Egret and Wattled Crane.
Activities at Duba Plains include day and night game drives, and walking safaris.
The Duba Plains concession is leased from the neighbouring communities and the camp aims to bring the benefits of ecotourism to the communities that live around the Okavango Delta.
