Safari Camps in the Okavango Delta & Moremi Game Reserve
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is the largest inland delta in the world. Situated within this remarkable wetland lies the Moremi Game Reserve which boasts an abundance of wildlife, like an oasis in the otherwise inhospitable Kalahari basin. Where land and delta meet, a mosaic of water-chanels, grasslands, forests and lagoons provide an extremely rich and diverse habitat for a multitude of birds and animals – including the elusive sitatunga antelope, large numbers of hippo, crocodiles, elephant and buffalo. Predators are particularly well represented, with lion, cheetah, leopard and the endangered wild-dog all present in large numbers.
Safari holiday activities available in the Okavango and Moremi Game Reserve vary considerably depending on the different terrain. Some lodges have water based activities (in motorised boats and wooden canoes) whilst others concentrate on game drives in open 4x4 vehicles.
