Savuti & Linyanti Camps
The Linyanti Wildlife area is located on the western border of Chobe National Park and is a vast 125,000 hectare private Wilderness concession. It plays host to 3 small lodges (Duma Tau, Kings Pool and Savuti Camp). Its wide variety of habitats provides first rate game viewing – with great numbers of elephant, buffalo and zebra congregating at the waterways and healthy populations of lion, leopard and cheetah patrolling the Mopani forests and what used to be the The Savuti Channel. It is also one of the best places on earth to spot a pack of Wild Dog in their own unique environment.
The Selinda Wildlife area is next door to The Linyanti and is also a private Wilderness Concession (135,000Ha). It differs slightly to The Linyanti in that it has a much larger flood plain. It does have the added advantage of having fresh water throughout the dry months when vast herds of elephants remain close to The Linyanti Waters. The game in The Selinda is similar to that of the Linyanti. The Selinda concession plays host to only two small lodges - The Selinda Camp and Zibadianja.
Kwando is a private concession that borders The Selinda Reserve and The Linyanti Water. You can also cross into Namibia from here in one of the most remote border crossings in Africa. The concession is 2320 kilometres square. Within this huge concession all predators are found, especially good sightings of Wild Dog from Lagoon Camp. As with the other concessions Kwando allows access to fresh water year round, meaning that large herds can be found congregating in the dry seasons. It hosts 2 camps - Lagoon Camp and Lebala Camp.
