Selous Impala Camp

Selous Impala Camp enjoys a perfect location on the banks of the rippling Rufiji River, in Africa’s oldest and most spectacular game reserve.  This untouched and uninhabited area is home to a huge variety of game and the largest herds of elephant in the world.  Set amidst shady palms and Tamarind trees, Selous Impala Camp provides excellent comfort, superb wildlife and opportunities for dining under the stars.

This exclusive camp comprises just seven luxury tents on raised wooden platforms.  The tents are airy and comfortable with traditional colonial furniture, en-suite bathrooms and dressing rooms.  All the tents at Selous Impala Camp have magnificent views of the river and surrounding bush.  Guests can relax in a central thatched guest area complete with wide verandas, comfortable sofas and a well stocked bar.  A dazzling blue swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off after the day’s excitement. 

Activities at Selous Impala Camp are varied and include boat safaris, game drives and walking excursions.  Boat safaris offer an unusual perspective for game viewing, especially during the dry season (June-November) when large herds of animals congregate around the Rufiji’s refreshing channels and lagoons.  Guests at Selous Impala Camp have the opportunity to view a stunning variety of wildlife including the largest population of buffalo in Africa, lions, leopards and crocodiles.  Other activities include bird watching, fishing and, by prior arrangement, fly camping.
