Akagera National Park
Located in the east of Rwanda along the Akagera River, this is a beautiful park of rolling savannah. Rwanda’s largest national park, it boasts elephant, giraffe, hyena, lion and 11 antelope species. Extensive swampland areas support a huge hippo population as well as wetland birds including African finfoot, shoebill and a number of papyrus endemics.
