Family Holidays
Africa offers enormous scope for fun and imaginative family holidays. At Imagine Africa we specialise in creating exciting tailor-made family itineraries for all of our African destinations.
On safari there are specific camps and lodges that have rooms and activities designed with families in mind (we have a list we can send you for each country we feature), whilst for our beach destinations many of our chosen hotels have special children’s clubs with supervised programmes of activities, learning and entertainment. And there is no reason why any time that you have to spend in cities such as Nairobi, Johannesburg or Cape Town should not also be interesting for the children.
We are happy to tailor-make an itinerary around your exact requirements and budget. Please telephone us on 0207 622 5114 at any time, or email info@imagineafrica.co.uk for advice.
Most of our holidays are arranged over the telephone, but you are also most welcome to come and see us in the office – which is just by Clapham Common.

On the Beach…
The beaches of the Indian Ocean provide endless family activities based around the superb beaches and watersports. In addition to generally available watersports, there are children’s clubs at many of the hotels that offer supervised activities such as;
8 treasure hunts,
8 glass bottom boat trips,

In the Cities…
Multi-centre holidays often necessitate a night in transit in somewhere like Cape Town, Johannesburg or Nairobi. These need not be considered wasted time. Below is a selection of fun things for children of various ages to do in some of Africa’s bigger cities;
8Johannesburg – visit Gold Reef City (a restored gold mine), take a walking tour of Soweto, the Apartheid Museum.
8Nairobi – visit the butterfly park, Nairobi Museum and snake park, the Elephant Orphanage, the Giraffe Centre and then see what they all taste like at the Carnivore restaurant.
8Cape Town – swim with Jackass penguins at Boulders Beach, take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, watch whales from the shore at False Bay, take the train ride from Fishhoek to Simonstown, visit Robben Island, meet a cheetah at Spier wine estate.
