Scuba 65, Botswana Safari, Victoria Falls and Mozambique trip

This two week itinerary includes three nights on safari in the Chobe National Park in Botswana, which has excellent game viewing, and is renowned for its huge elephant herds. 

 

This is followed by three at Victoria Falls where a huge variety of activities, from the relaxing to the adrenalin fuelled, are possible. After this there is a week in Mozambique, with six nights at Barra Lodge on the stunning coast at Inhambane, and a final night in Maputo, the atmospheric capital city.  

 

 

ITINERARY

21st

Check in at 18h30 at London Gatwick north terminal for the Nationwide Airlines flight CE101 departing 20h30 for Johannesburg.

22nd

On arrival into Johannesburg at 09h10, transfer immediately onto the Nationwide Airlines flight CE202 departing 11h20 for Livingstone on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls.

 

On arrival at at 12h55, you will be met by our agents, and transferred to Chobe National Park in Botswana (1hr 30 mins) to stay for the next three nights at Chobe Safari Lodge. Your stay here includes breakfast and dinner, three game game drives, one boat cruise and park fees for three days.

23rd & 24th

 

Full days for game viewing activities in Chobe National Park and surrounding area. Three game drives, a boat excursion on the Chobe River and all park fees are included. Additionally, village visits or bush walks can be arranged locally.

25th

 

After breakfast you will be met by our agents and transferred to the Zambezi Sun Hotel (1 hour 20 mins) to stay for the next three nights in standard rooms, with breakfast included.  The Zambezi Sun is on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls and is the nearest hotel to the falls themselves.

26th & 27th

Full days to explore Victoria Falls.  Tours and excursions range from micro-light flights over the falls, white water rafting, walking tours of the falls, visits to Livingstone island, sunset boat cruises and elephant back safaris.  Click here for a full list of ideas and options.

28th

In the mid afternoon you will be collected from the Zambezi Sun and transferred (20 mins) to Livingstone airport in time to check in for the Nationwide Airlines flight CE4207 departing 16h20 for Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg at 18h00 you will be met and transferred to the Airport Grand hotel to stay overnight with breakfast included.

After breakfast you will be transferred back to the Johannesburg airport to check in for the Air Mozambique flight departing 08h40 to Inhambane in Mozambique, via Maputo.

 

On arrival at 12h00, you will be met and transferred to Barra Lodge to stay for the next seven nights.

 

Your accommodation here is as follows:

2 x self catering cottages. Two bedrooms, separate lounge/dining area, kitchen, shower and en suite toilet. The cottages are serviced daily.

1 x double casita. Twin bedded with en suite bathroom.

1 x single casita.  Single bed with en suite bathroom.

 

Board basis.  Those staying in the Casita’s have breakfast and dinner included (three persons). The rest of the group are booked on a self catering basis (as this is the only way that the two bedroom cottages can be booked), but will be provided with R120 per person per day (£12) for breakfast and dinner.

 

Inhambane Town, which is nearby, is one of the most interesting and attractive towns in Mozambique. A half day sight seeing tour of Inhambane is also included.

Barra Ldoge, Mozambique

The lodge has a large swimming pool and its own fully equipped PADI dive centre. Other activities at Barra Lodge include Dhow Trips, full day Catamaran Cruises, quad biking, horse riding along the beach, snorkeling, deep sea fishing and mangrove kayaking trips.

Diving in Mozambique

6th

After the morning at leisure, you will be transferred back to Inhambane airport in time for the Air Mozambique flight departing 14h10 for Johannesburg, via Maputo. Arrive at 18h30 and transfer immediately onto the overnight Nationwide Airlines flight departing early evening for London.

Price

This itinerary is costs £2,230 per person sharing, including international and domestic flights and air taxes, accommodation on a shared basis, transfers, meals and activities as indicated. [Itinerary current as at 19 June 2006.]
