Kizingo Beach Lodge

Kizingo Beach Lodge is a secluded and tranquil beach lodge at one end of a spectacular twelve kilometre beach on Lamu Island. Kizingo has 6 beautifully appointed bandas (thatched cottages), set well apart from each other, with en-suite bathrooms, high-pitched roofs and shaded balconies. In the early morning you can enjoy tea in bed and watch fishing dhows tack south to Malindi.
Guests can opt to enjoy fine dining on the balcony of their banda or join others in the bar and dining room which has magnificent views across the bay to mainland Kenya where giant baobab trees spread into the brilliant blue sky.
Complimentary holiday activities at Kizingo include snorkelling, fishing dhow trips, bush walks, turtle watching (between late October and June) and historic tours of Lamu Town and Shela. Other options include off-site scuba diving and deep sea fishing.
Kizingo Beach Lodge operates on ecologically sound principles. The knowledge and expertise of local villagers has been used in the lodge construction and locally produced materials are used. Hot water and most of the electricity is provided by solar panels. Shower water and kitchen grey water is recycled to grow plants and trees, and fruit and vegetables are purchased from local communities.
