The Tusitiri Dhow

The Tusitiri is a 60 foot traditional sailing dhow based in the Lamu archipelago on the northern Kenya coast. Built in Lamu Town, the Tusitiri has the design of the traditional vessels that used to ply the trade routes between the Arabian Gulf and the east African coast.

The Tusitiri DhowHer spacious decks and carved wooden furnishings allow guests to relax, enjoy a variety of watersports and absorb the beautiful surroundings of this remote and beautiful archipelago. The dhow accommodates up to 12 guests who sleep on deck on comfortable bedding that is laid out after dinner. The Tusitiri’s ample deck allows for privacy as well as shelter in the event of rainfall and for those not wishing to sleep al fresco there is a double cabin below deck. Treated mosquito nets, bed linen, bathrobes and towels are supplied.

The Tusitiri carries a dive-boat equipped with two 70hp outboard engines for water-skiing and diving, and other activities include snorkeling, windsurfing and deep sea fishing. The boat is booked on an exclusive basis and sailing itineraries can be tailored to your individual requirements, allowing you to explore the calm inland waters and visit deserted beaches at your leisure.
