Kivulini

Kivulini Beach House is a unique family home right on Diani Beach, a 25 mile white sand paradise on the South Coast of Mombasa, Kenya.

The house has four air-conditioned double bedrooms, two with en suite bathrooms and two with a shared bathroom, sleeping eight people. All the bedrooms have either sea views or views of the surrounding coconut grove garden.

Kivulini Beach House has four separate living areas so you can always find a quiet spot away from it all.

There is an inside sitting room with a bar, small library, and chess set, a sheltered living area which is also our dining area with sea views, an outside terrace area overlooking the sea with a hammock, protected by a thatched Makuti roof and a roof top terrace with magnificent views of the sea through the coconut tree tops.

Kivulini Beach House is decorated for comfort and relaxation with traditional Coastal style Lamu furniture and local fabrics. The house is run by five staff, including a cook, cleaner, laundry lady, gardener and night watchman, all who have worked with our family for many years.

In addition to the main house there are two small overflow cottages on the property. These cottages, located just outside the main house, have double beds and en suite bathrooms. They are only rented in addition to a rental of the main house.

The gardens surrounding the house have a natural beauty and are full of wildlife. Apart from the birds and occasional chameleons, they have monitor lizards living in the " bundu" at the back of the house and they share their front garden with a number of visiting Vervet monkeys and the shy Colobus monkeys, a protected species.
