This straightforward family itinerary will allow each member of the family, no matter what age, to become enchanted by the wildlife of East Africa. Whether it's predators for the teenagers, birds for Mum and Dad or warthogs for the little ones, there is something for everyone and our handpicked family safari lodge, Saruni.  Saruni is one of the Masai Mara's top lodges, with great food, some of the best safari guides in Kenya (really important on a family safari, as a good guide will be able to make the wilderness come alive even for children), and there is even a 'spa in the forest' if mum and dad require a bit of pampering.


From the Masai Mara there is a short 2 hour flight direct to the white sandy beaches of the Kenya coast, at Mombasa.  Here you can enjoy the gin clear waters of the Indian Ocean and all the family orientated activities offered by Kinondo Kwetu.

"Kinondo Kwetu; Something new on the Kenyan coast – hallelujah! An amazing hideaway, with a style that reflects the sophisticated Swedish owners (who have 2 children of their own).  There are lots of nooks for quiet moments, two pools – including one for the tadpoles – and a lovely slice of beach that isn’t vast, but is pristine.  The place is big into yoga and has its own horses, tennis court and dive centre.  The Shimba Hills Reserve has elephants and giraffes – never underestimate how much children love giraffes (nor grown-ups juicy cocktails out on the dhow at sunset).  The food is properly good and the staff will conjure up what the children want at a moment’s notice. Day 1
Check in at London Heathrow for your Kenya Airways flight departing at 19h00 to Nairobi.

Day 2
Arrive into Nairobi at 06h30 where your family will be met by your private chauffeur - you will then be transferred to Nairobi's domestic airport in time for your scheduled light aircraft flight departing at 10h00 to the Masai Mara.

On arrival into the Masai Mara at 10h45 you will be met and will game drive your way to Saruni Camp. You will stay at Saruni Camp for the next four nights in a tented family room, or two neighboring rooms (depending on your preference - kids in or out?!), including all meals, drinks and all wildlife viewing activities.

Day 3 - 5    
Full day's game viewing in the Masai Mara. The Saruni guides are brilliant with children of all ages.

Day 6
This afternoon you will be transferred back to the Mara airstrip in time for your light aircraft flight departing at 14h00 to Mombasa on the Kenya Coast.

On arrival into Mombasa at 16h30 you will be met and transferred to Kinondo Kwetu to stay for the next seven nights in a two bedroom family cottage with all meals, drinks (soft drinks and alcohol for the grown ups) and most non motorised activities included.

Day 7 - 12
Full day's having fun at Kinondo Kwetu.  Among the included activities are; snorkelling, canoeing, dinghy sailing, dhow sailing, mountain biking, tennis, and yoga.  Scuba diving and deep sea fishing can also be arranged. 

Day 13
This evening you will be transferred back to Mombasa airport in time for your Kenya Airways flight departing at 20h40 to Nairobi. On arrival into Nairobi International airport at 21h40 you will connect immediately with your Kenya Airways flight departing at 23h50 to London Heathrow.

Day 14
Arrive into London Heathrow at 06h45.
