Amboseli national park is a fairly small national park of 390 sq kms situated south of
Most of the cat species, including leopard, lion, cheetah and caracal, are present in the park and the open plains provide good chances of sightings. Amboseli is also famous for its large herds of buffalo and especially elephants. Bull elephants here have some of the largest tusks ever recorded and have been the subject of ground breaking work by renowned naturalist Cynthia Moss over the past twenty years.
