Samburu

Situated in the more arid region of northern Kenya, Samburu yet again a contrast to other parts of Kenya. The landscape is perhaps the most extreme in Kenya, but also boasts some of its rarest species from the Vulturine Guinea Fowl and cartoon-book appearance of the Reticulated Giraffe and Grevy's Zebra, to the perfectly adapted Gerunuk and Beisa Oryx.

The Samburu region encompasses the Samburu, Buffalo Springs and Shaba National Reserves and also includes the adjoining grasslands and thorn scrub of Laikipia, Loisaba and Lewa Downs extending to the foothills of Mount Kenya. With the beautiful Ewaso Ngiro river running through the region.

The landscape is that of stunning acacia forests, doub palms and distant hills. Samburu is not very well known but its undiscovered nature and landscapes make it a completely personal experience. The Ewaso Ngiro River means plenty of water, attracting a lot of game.
