Sarara Lodge has six luxury tents, each positioned to maximise the stunning views of the Mathews Range of mountains and the animal watering hole. Preserving the romance of the tented camp, these tents are spacious and high ceilinged, with plenty of cupboard space, electric lighting and 24 hour hot and cold running water. Sarara is based in the Mathews Range, and has established itself as one of the 'hot spots' for quality leopard viewing in Africa and equally, for close-up sightings of the normally extremely shy lesser kudu antelope.

The African wild dogs are frequently encountered in the Sarara valley too. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, gerenuk, impala and warthogs are now regularly seen on game drives and bush walks, and are very much on the increase in numbers.

There is an outdoor bathroom offering a superb view of the hills from the shower. But there is also an indoor toilet and sink at the back of the tent for midnight visits. Each tent has its own private terrace with table and chairs -morning coffee and tea are brought to you so that you can wake up gazing out over the mountains.
In the mornings, tea, coffee or juice is brought to your tent at the time of your choosing.

Breakfast is available in the mess building at any time to accommodate those coming back from an early morning safari and those just getting up. Eggs any style,the full English breakfast, toast, and fresh fruit. Lunch is often set up under a tree or in the mess if it is hot. Buffet style, lunch consists of a variety of dishes including fresh salads and followed by a cheese platter.

Drinks and dinner might be set up on the terrace overlooking the pool or somewhere a little more wild. After a game drive or a walk, the pool beckons. The temptation to remain, submerged in water, and studying a herd of elephant, impala or warthogs interacting at the water hole below may make you late for tea!
