Governors Camp
Governors Camp is situated on the Mara River in the Masai Mara game reserve. It is called Governors Camp because the site was used over a century ago by Kenya’s colonial governors and their royal visitors – and it is not hard to see why – as the camp occupies a prime spot. The Mara River is on one side and the sweeping plains on the other, and during the wildebeest migration guests can quite literally spend a day game viewing without ever needing to leave camp.
Governors Camp has 36 recently refurbished tents which have en-suite bathrooms, hot running water and flush toilets. Meals are served on a viewing deck that looks down onto the Mara River where many animals come to drink.
As well as game drives, visits to a local village, and walking safaris (extra), Governors Camp offer balloon safaris over the Masai Mara. More…
