This small lodge at the borders of Lake Baringo, one of the two fresh water lakes in Kenya's Rift Valley, is the gem for birders and bird photographers.

It is set amidst lush green lawns and bougainvillea and is intimate and cozy. Birding here is a real pleasure as the birds are very colorful and not at all shy - some even come and feed from your hands.
 
From the Lake Baringo Country Club you can easily go birding to Lake Bogoria with its thousands of flamingos and beautiful hot springs, do walks around the cliffs, go for a boat ride on the lake, bird in the garden or just take a break from it all.
 
Lake Baringo is a 5.5 hours drive from Nairobi but it is best to break the journey with stops in Naivasha or Nakuru.

During the day there is a plethora of activities to choose from, including boat trips, fishing, horse riding, camel rides, visits to a Njemps village and day trips to the hot springs at Lake Bogoria.

The Baringo region is renowned worldwide for the numerous bird species found in the area. 470 species have been listed in the Lake Baringo area and the Goliath Heronry on a rocky islet in the lake (known locally as Gibraltar) is world famous.

A resident ornithologist leads bird walks before breakfast and in the evening.
