Kenya Safari Holidays | Kenya Beach Holidays
Kenya is the birthplace of the modern safari holiday and there is nowhere else in Africa or the world that can offer such a diverse range of genuinely world class attractions. Kenya encapsulates what for many is the very essence of Africa: superb game viewing, friendly and interesting people and dramatic scenery.
Above all else Kenya is famous for its incredible wildlife making Kenya's safari holidays on most people's top travel wish lists. The Masai Mara is probably the world's most famous game reserve and every year it plays host to the migration of the wildebeest - the biggest movement of land mammals on our planet.
Kenya's population of approximately 30 million people is amongst the most diverse in Africa, with over 40 different tribes living within its borders. With such a wide range of cultures, excellent wildlife, 500 kilometres of coral reef lined coast and unique topographical features such as Mount Kenya and the Great Rift Valley, Kenya is ideal for a first time safari holiday to Africa. The contrasting sights and sounds are also bound to offer fresh experiences for those who know Africa well.

When To Go on a Kenya Safari Holiday
Kenya has two rainy seasons: between April and May and in November. Seasons are the reverse of those in the UK. Summer is from December to March and sees temperatures in the mid 30s whilst winter is from June to September, when temperatures are in the mid 20s. The coastal strip tends to be hot and humid throughout the year with much less seasonal variation.
Getting There
British Airways and Kenya Airways both operate daily flights direct from London to Nairobi. Flight time is about 8 hours and there is a choice of day-time or night-time flights. Once in Kenya there is an efficient network of internal flights between the Safari areas and the coast.
Kenya Airways also has excellent onward connections to the Seychelles, Tanzania, Zanzibar and its other east African neighbours.
Visas
UK and USA passport holders require a visa for Kenya. These cost £30 or $50 and can be arranged with the High Commission / Embassy before travel, or they can also be purchased on arrival in Nairobi. However this may entail a considerable time queuing before the visa is issued. Transit visas cost £10/$20 and can be obtained for short overnight stays in Nairobi.
