Larsens Camp, Luxury Safari Holidays in Kenya

Larsens Tented Camp was opened in 1987, and is set in lush lawns on the bank of the Uaso Nyiro, a river in Samburu National Reserve, on the border of the old Northern Frontier Province. The river attracts endless wildlife - elephants rolling and trumpeting in the shallows, timid impala nervously drinking, baboons and vervet monkeys swinging through the canopy of trees.

Larsens Tented Safari Camp comprises of 20 spacious airy tents all raised on wooden platforms - the style is colonial elegance with hot showers and complete comfort in ones tent.

All tents, including the mess tent face the river and dinner is by candlelight with silver.

Each tent stands on a plinth of natural stone and all have en suite private bathrooms stocked with a range of Molton Brown toiletries, flushing toilets, constant hot water and 24 hour electricity (240 volts).

Each tent features 1 king or 2 twin beds designed in chic safari style.

The experience is very much an African one, with Samburu dancers, old pith helmets and wildlife everywhere you look. 

Tales are exchanged around the fire each evening. Amidst the glow from the embers, the calls of the African night, a waft of cigar smoke and the kick of a White Mischief liqueur, game drives are relived and personal histories exchanged - it's a wonderful venue for making new friends and imbibing the essence of Africa as did the safari pioneers so many years ago.
