Galdessa Camp

Galdessa Camp is located deep in the magnificent Tsavo East National Park, Kenya’s largest wildlife area.  This small, tented lodge nestles on the banks of the Galana River and is geared towards providing an elegant yet truly authentic safari encounter.  Galdessa is an eco-friendly camp and guests are able to experience true harmony with nature while enjoying the excellent facilities on offer. 

The camp is divided into upstream and downstream camps, each with their own private mess and lounges that can be booked for exclusive use.  Accommodation consists of rustic but elegant thatched bandas, tastefully furnished to blend with their environment. The camp also boasts two luxurious suites, each with their own private viewing platform, where delicious private meals can be served.  The central area is spacious and enjoys a comfortable dining room, bar and cosy lounge with plush bed-sized sofas – perfect for relaxing after an exciting day on safari. 

The camp’s riverside location means that it is perfectly positioned for optimum game viewing opportunities. The river is a favourite with lions, elephants, rhinos, cheetahs and buffalos.  Guests can explore in open 4WD vehicles, with opportunities for bush breakfasts and dinners, picnic lunches or excellent 3 course meals in rustic surroundings.  Galdessa is also renowned for its walking safaris where guests have ample opportunities to view the multitude of big and small species that inhabit this fertile region. Tsavo is one of the wildest areas in Kenya and care is taken to ensure that tourism has little impact on this rugged environment.
