This popular lodge blends seamlessly into its surroundings to make you feel as if you are in the forest. 

Vakona Forest Lodge has 24 bungalows each with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony from which to relax and enjoy the views of the surrounding rainforest. The style of the bungalows derives from traditional Malagasy architecture and gives a rustic feeling to the lodge.

The octagonal restaurant and bar serves a variety of dishes and drinks which can be enjoyed whilst taking in the spectacular views of the forest through the full-length windows.

The large, open fireplace in the centre of the restaurant is a particular feature radiating a lovely warm feeling to guests. There is also an outdoor terrace extending over the lake where you can watch the local birds around the lake.

You can explore the private reserve on foot, on horseback or by hiring a mountain bike; guests can also explore the lake and its lemur islands by canoe.
