Experience a different taste of Madagascar onboard a traditional dhow. The dhow safari provides the chance to explore Madagascar’s North-Western coastline and surrounding islands at an unhurried pace.
This is a tailor made adventure trip and allows you to visit places that are inaccessible by road. This gives the opportunity of an amazing cultural experience as well as an insight into the true Madagascar, away from civilisation and certainly away from other tourists.
Itineraries vary upon your schedule and can range from two to eight nights (or more if desired). This is a tailor made adventure trip and the destinations and timing are up to you.
A possible itinerary could be as follows:
Day 1
Leave the Nosy Be port onboard the traditional dhow heading South-West down the mainland.
Stop for a snorkel and then lunch on board the dhow.
Stop to set up camp on a deserted beach and then explore the local area and the local flora and fauna.
Supper on the beach, possibly eating fish caught from the boat or whilst snorkelling or similar fresh Malagasy food.
Nights are spent camping on the beach in two-man tents usually near a local settlement or water source.
Day 2
Wake up with the sun to unparalleled views of the beach and Indian Ocean.
Breakfast on fresh fruit, croissants and fruit fritters with a cup of tea or coffee.
Disembark for a short sail down the mainland to a Robinson Crusoe esc island and set up camp.
Snorkel, with lunch and supper on the beach.
Day 3
