Danforth Lodge

Danforth Yachting is an owner run lodge and yacht charter operation, based at Cape Maclear on the shores of Lake Malawi. Bordering on the Lake Malawi National Park, surrounded by islands, this is arguably the most beautiful spot on Lake Malawi.

The lodge situated at Cape Maclear, has seven large, spacious, en-suite, air conditioned family rooms, tastefully decorated in cool, nautical colours and all opening onto a patio with spectacular views of the lake and Thumbi West Island. The lawn flows down to the sparkling swimming pool, onto the beach and to the clear, sweet waters of Lake Malawi.

Try water skiing, wake boarding or tubing on the lake with full tuition given for all watersports. Enjoy snorkeling trips to the island, go fishing, swimming, and mountain biking or set off on a nature walk. A selection of dingy sailing boats and catamarans are great fun to take out sailing in the bay. You could take a walk into the village in the cool of the afternoon for some curio shopping, or just take a break and have a rest on your bed or sun-lounger with a good book!

Danforth Lodge's trump card is Mufasa, a fully equipped and crewed ocean going catamaran, which sleeps eight guests in comfort and style. The layout includes two bathrooms, four double cabins, 2 crew berths, saloon, galley, cockpit under shade bimini and a dive platform.
