The Lodge

The lodge has 10 individually-designed villas spread out along a lush hillside overlooking the lake. Each villa boasts a large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck with lake view. Guests can relax on the sandy beach or at the stylish infinity pool.

For those seeking activity, there is waterskiing, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and birdwatching. At sunset take a scenic cruise on a traditional wooden dhow, a 40ft sailing boat hand built by local craftsmen. 

It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of Lake Malawi, described by the explorer David Livingstone as The Lake of Stars. Pumulani is an ideal location for families (7 years and over during peak season, off season all ages are welcome). 

Mum and Dad can relax on the beach while the children are having a fabulous time on the speed boats – fun tubing or learning to wake board and water ski (smaller skis available for smaller children). 

You can also snorkel, take out kayaks, try your hand at fishing or just play in the swimming pool. Staff can look after the children in the villa and help supervise them during activities in the day. Meal times are flexible and can be fitted to your child’s needs.
