The Merville Beach is a friendly hotel with an excellent setting on a picturesque private beach a ten minute walk away from the interesting town of Grand Baie.

The Merville Beach Hotel was one of the first hotels on the island and consequently has one of the best locations of all the hotels in Mauritius. Situated within lush tropical gardens there are a total of 169 standard, superior and deluxe rooms, each with private bathroom, air-conditioning and a balcony with sea views.

They all vary in size and we specifically recommend the superior and deluxe rooms which are situated in thatched cottages in the hotel gardens.

Hotel guests can enjoy the privacy of a secluded beach bordering the shallow bay, as well as beautiful gardens to relax in. The swimming pool is perched high above the beach with a shallow children’s pool and sun loungers.

On the beach, free watersports include; snorkeling, water-skiing, windsurfing, kayaking, pedalos and glass-bottom boat trips. Scuba diving and deep sea fishing are available for a fee, and the hotel also has a flood-lit tennis court. There is a golf course approximately fifteen minutes drive from the hotel.

The main restaurant at the Merville Beach overlooks the swimming pool and the sea and serves a variety of local and international cuisine, whilst a popular thatched bar serves day-time snacks close to the beach. In the evenings there is a resident band and entertainment can include traditional Mauritian Sega dancing and cabaret shows.
