Kaya Mawa

Kaya Mawa is on Likoma Island in the Mozambican waters of Lake Niassa (Lake Malawi). The lodge consists of seven stone and thatch cottages hewn out of the granite headland. The eighth room is the honeymoon suite located on its own private island. Each has a giant bed, a private terrace with water access, a sunken stone tub for bathing and an en suite loo with a view.

Plenty of lake based activities are offered (including scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing), though in keeping with the lodges name (Kaya Mawa means ‘maybe tomorrow’ in a local dialect) many guests choose to make relaxation their main priority.
