Lugenda Bushcamp is the first lodge in the Niassa Reserve and accommodation is in tented rooms which have canvas and thatch roofs and en suite bathrooms including a flush toilet.
With its dramatic granite inselbergs and huge tracts of miombo woodland, its elephants, wild dogs and sable antelope, this vast and seldom-visited stronghold of big game is among the most exciting and least explored areas in Africa.
Getting there
Return flights from Pemba airport are included in the above rates. Lugenda Bushcamp can also be reached by air (1 hour) from Lake Niassa/Lake Malawi.
USEFUL INFO
» Lugenda Bushcamp is owned by Rani Resorts who also own Medjumbe Island and Matemo Island in the Quirimbas Archipelago, as well as Indigo Bay Resort in the Bazaruto Archipelago. If you want to combine Lugenda with some time on a beach, all three are good options, and there are cost savings if you combine different Rani Resorts properties.
» The best people in the office to speak to about Lugenda are Alistair, James or Ben, they've all been to northern Mozambique recently.
