The bottlenose dolphins that frequent the waters off Ponta do Ouro are a particularly friendly group that habituated to humans.
The Dolphin Team at Encountours have been involved with the dolphin research at Ponta do Ouro for over nine years and pride themselves on their excellent relationship with these beautiful creatures.
Dolphin Encountours arrange dolphin tours that are either three or four night packages. All include opportunities to swim and interact with the dolphins under the supervision of experienced team members (encounters depend on dolphin behaviour and guests are given the opportunely of witnessing the myriad of personalities and natural habits of the wild dolphin). Full snorkel and safety training is also included as are informative dolphin presentations and video screenings.
Accommodation is offered at the Dolphin Beach Camp at Ponta do Ouro. Constructed out of local materials, the rooms are basic but comfortable. Dolphin Tours include dinners except on one night where you can eat out in Ponta do Ouro village nearby.
