Matemo Island Resort has an idyllic location in the stunning Quirimbas Archipelago off the coast of Northern Mozambique. The lodge is on the north western corner of the island and looks over what must be one of Africa’s most spectacular beaches. Accommodation consists of 24 thatched chalets, each with its own en suite bathroom. Guests also have access to their own private outdoor shower. All the chalets have air conditioning, full mosquito screens, outdoor hammocks and satellite TV.

The main communal area of the lodge is on a small hill, so you have great views of the beach whilst having your breakfast, or enjoying sundowners in the spacious bar and lounge. There are also spectacular opportunities for game fishing with species including Kingfish, Barracuda, Yellow fin Tuna and Sailfish. A trip to nearby Ibo Island is a must for those who want to experience a slice of traditional Mozambican culture.
