Rongui Island Lodge
Ben is the only person in the office who has been to Rongui Island - and in fact one of the few people who have been to Rongui full stop - as the island has not been developed at anything like the schedule the owners originally thought. As of late 2009, there is still no word on an exact opening date. For more info, call Ben on 0207 622 5114.
Rongui Island is the spectacular next development in the Maluane Project.

Situated on its own island approximately 10 kilometres north of Vamizi, Rongui Island Lodge enjoys what is perhaps the most idyllic location in the archipelago. Positioned at the head of a shallow crescent shaped lagoon, the sand is sugar soft and the water a translucent and inviting turquoise. (When we arrived, our boat was even accompanied by two dolphins hurdling the wake in welcome.)

The original completion date for Rongui Island was planned as July 2006, but having seen the remote location and the logistical challenges Ben thinks some time in mid 2010 is more likely. In any case, the wait will be worth it, as we think Rongui may even eclipse its stunning sister lodge on Vamizi Island.

Linas recomendation for a honeymoon in the Quirimbas Archipelago is Vamizi Island.
Luxurious, romantic, remote and they have some great honeymoon offers. Lina says "...when I get married i'll be here in a flash".
