Dugong Beach Lodge

Dugong Lodge is situated in the Vilanculos Wildlife Reserve and Marine Sanctuary, a diverse eco-system of bush and wetland, powder beaches and crystal clear water. It is reached via a ten minute flight or thirty minute boat ride from Vilanculos.

The lodge has six chalets and two beach villas which sleep up to four people. All are en suite with feature baths and an outdoor shower. The restaurant specialises in seafood and local Portuguese cuisine, and the bar and lounge is raised on Mahogany decking with a jetty jutting out into the protected waters of Vilanculos Bay – ideal for a sundowner or private dinner.

This is a relaxing and peaceful lodge ideal for frittering away the hours in pleasant tropical isolation. Picnic on a deserted island, enjoy leisurely walks on a perfect white-sand beach with translucent waters, or enjoy an excursion to World’s View, the highest point on the peninsula. Snorkel beneath the famous jetty (the marine life here includes shallow and deep-water reefs and a wide array of fish, dolphins, manta rays, and the nearly extinct dugong) or visit the Wildlife reserve which has nearly 300 bird species including large flocks of flamingos and pelicans.
