This is a great opportunity to discover the Kunene region which includes Damaraland and Kaokoland and really get off the beaten track following Desert Elephants, Black Rhino and interacting with the nomadic Ovahimbas.

You can join a scheduled departure or as is more popular travel on your own. This is a great alternative to a lodge stay and works very well as a ‘wild’ component built into your regular lodge self drive or fly in safari. It is feasible to take a short 3 day break and get away into the real wilderness and then continue with your holiday. It is also a great option for families and couples wanting to have some private time whilst in Namibia.

Mobile camping safaris and itineraries support ecological tourism and are fully aware of the fact that tourism can have an affect on the natural environment and cultural diversity of indigenous people. Sensitivity towards the people and places that you visit are of primary importance.

All of your guides are dedicated conservationists with an excellent knowledge of the fauna, flora and cultures of the region. They love their country and know exactly what it is has to offer. They speak a minimum of three languages and are able to communicate with the various tribal groups with which contact is made on safari.

All About Mobile Camping
Safaris are fully supported and mobile camping equipment is supplied. Three wholesome meals are served daily. Breakfast is “full English” style. Lunch consists of cold meats, cheese, salads, pickled cucumbers, olives, asparagus, fresh vegetables and fruit. Dinner is a three course meal. At dinner, wine and beer are included.

Custom built Toyota Land Cruisers seating a maximum of 5 persons are used on our mobile safaris. Each vehicle is equipped with a fridge to keep drinks cold. All safaris carry a satellite phone for emergency communications.

Comfortable modern dome tents (water and insect proof), comfortable canvas bed rolls with mattresses and bedding, camping beds (metal and canvas), solar bucket showers and long-drop toilets are supplied.

Rates include 4x4 vehicles and running costs, experienced guide, entry permits for Namibian parks, all camping equipment, mineral water en route, beer and house wine at dinner whilst camping, full board.
