Namibia Thirstlands Expedition

This luxury serviced camping safari combines game viewing activities with dramatically contrasting landscapes and fascinating culture.  Accommodation is a mixture of wild camping and camping at exclusive CC Africa lodges.

ITINERARY
Day 1

Meet your guide at 8am and embark on safari through the Kalahari bush.  Travel off the beaten track towards the Waterberg Plateau.  Arrive at CC Africa's exclusive campsite with its superb panoramic views.  After lunch enjoy a walk along the plateau, then enjoy dinner under the lush tree canopy that surrounds the camp.

Day 2

After breakfast, travel to CC Africa's campsite in the private Fischer's Pan Game Reserve which is adjacent to Etosha National Park.  En-route, visit the San (Bushman) community at Ombili.  In the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in Etosha National Park.

 

Day 3

Early morning game drive.  Depending on game sightings and movements you will spend the day in the park, stopping for a delicious picnic and one of the restcamps.

Day 4

Travel westwards into the park, stopping en route for a picnic lunch.  There will be the opportunity to visit several watering holes.  Arrive at Okaukuejo in time for sundowners and spend time watching wildlife at the camp's floodlit watering hole.  Spend the night in chalet accommodation.  

Days 5, 6 & 7

 

After breakfast, continue into Northern Damaraland with its abundance of big game.  Explore this wild landscape over the next two days, camping under the stars.  You will have the opportunity to visit the rock engravings at Twyfelfontein and explore the seasonal riverbeds with their wide variety of wildlife.

Days 8 & 9

 

Visit the quaint coastal town of Swakopmund and the seal colony at Cape Cross.  Spend 2 nights at the Strand Hotel, conveniently situated close to the beach and shops.  Enjoy optional activities such as quad biking, flights over the desert and the morning dolphin cruise.

Days 10, 11 & 12

Continue to the Namib-Naukluft, Namibia's largest National Park.  Here you will find a wide variety of contrasting landcapes including sweeping sand dunes and majestic mountains.  Visit the highest dunes in the world at Sossusvlei before retiring to CC Africa's campsite in the Naukluft Mountains.

Day 13

After a leisurely breakfast you will return to Windhoek where your safari terminates in the late afternoon.
