Desert Camp is situated a mere 6km from the entrance to the Namib Naukluft Park for the famous sand dunes at Sossusvlei. It is made up of 20 self-catering units arranged around a communal area that includes a swimming pool, a bar and a boma area.

Each unit has its own kitchenette and BBQ area on a veranda that overlooks the grassy desert plains, ensuring you have the best possible view whilst you prepare and eat your meal.

The units sleep a maximum of 2 adults and 2 children under the age of 12 years.

Food can be ordered at Desert Camp upon arrival and will be delivered to you from the sister property Sossusvlei Lodge, or alternatively you can eat at Sossusvlei Lodge’s restaurant 5km down the road.

Each unit is en-suite with twin beds and an additional fold out sofa bed for two children under 11 years old.

The sparkling swimming pool is the focal point of the central communal area. Cool and refreshing, with an ornamental fountain and water jets and seating down one side to add to the relaxation.

This is a great property for families and those seeking something a little different.

A waterhole attracting springbok, ostrich, oryx, jackal and kudu provides entertainment whilst you prepare your food and you can take a short walk along the camp’s walking trail or organise a host of activities in the nearby area through the adventure centre at Sossusvlei Lodge, including the sand dune excursion to Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon visits and quad biking.
