This nine day escorted tour uses the best permanent lodges in northern Sudan. Travelling in expedition equipped 4x4 landrovers with experienced English speaking tour leaders, this trip visits all the key archaeological sites, as well as hidden Nubian villages and crossing stunning desert landscapes along the Nile.

| Day 1 |
Day flight London to Khartoum with Lufthansa. Overnight in Khartoum hotel. |

| Day 2 |
Visit the Archaeological Museum in Khartoum before departing north through the Western Desert to the holy mountain of Jebel Barkal. Stop en route to visit the Bisharin nomads. Arrive at Karima Lodge where you will stay for three nights. |

Day 3 |
Full day visiting Jebel Barkal and the Royal Necropolis of Napata. |

| Day 4 |
After stopping at the bustling market in Karima, drive into the Nubian desert to see the mighty rock formations of the 4th Cataract of the Nile. |

| Day 5 |
Ferry across the Nile and enter the Bayuda Desert. On arrival at Atbara drive head south to the Royal City of Meroe to stay for three nights at Meroe Tented Camp. |

Day 6 |
Full day exploring the Necropolis and Royal City of Meroe. |

Day 7 |
Day trip to the sites of the Naqa and Musawwarat Temples. |

Day 8 |
Drive south through a region of desert strewn with huge round granite boulders before arriving at Omdurman. Stop here to explore the interesting souks (markets) before spending your last night in Khartoum. |

Day 9 |
Return flight to London. |
