Getting There
British Airways flies three times a week from Heathrow to Dar es Salaam. Daily flights to Kilimanjaro airport are available on Kenya Airways and KLM (via Nairobi and Amsterdam respectively). Flight time is approx 9 hours. An efficient network of internal flights provides regular connections between the coast and the safari areas.

When To Go
Tanzania is an all year round holiday destination. Generally the best times to go are between June and October and December to March. There are two wet seasons - April to May and November. The coastal strip is hot and humid all year round.

Visas
British passport holders require a visa for Tanzania. These cost £30 or $50 and should preferably be arranged with the Tanzania High Commission in London before travel, although they can also be purchased on arrival.
