Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is perched on the edge of the world famous Ngorongoro Crater and is one of the most unique safari lodges in Africa. Designed to resemble the traditional dwellings of the local Masai people, the lodge comprises three separate camps. South Camp and North Camp have 12 suites each, whilst Tree Camp has 6 suites. All the suites have breathtaking views of the crater from a private deck and each has a fireplace, en suite bathroom and exclusive butler service.

Each camp has a sitting room, dining room and viewing decks. The communal areas and the suites, which are built on stilts, are adorned with graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and African treasures in an audacious fusion of modern European and ancient African styles.

The domed dining rooms, each with a fireplace, crystal, silver and massive wooden platters, make every meal a special occasion.

There is also outdoor dining deck for warmer evenings.

Safari activities centre on visits to the crater floor. It takes about half a day to fully explore the different areas of the Ngorongoro Crater, and there are two areas where visitors can stop for a picnic lunch or mid afternoon drink.

Other options include guided walks along the crater rim, and visits to local masai communities living nearby.
