Jongomero Camp

Jongomero Camp is situated under large acacias on the banks of the Jongomero Sand River. In the remote south west corner of the park and away from the other camps its surrounded by a wilderness of 'terminalia' woodland.

The camp itself is very comfortable. Eight spacious canvas rooms are built on polished hardwood decks and shaded by thatch. There are large windows, cool verandas overlooking the river and en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets, twin basins and hot showers.

The dining and living areas are both original and very comfortable and there is a natural rock swimming pool overlooks the sand river - providing a great vantage point to take in the sights and sounds of the bush surrounding the Camp.

Holiday activities at Jongomero include morning and evening game drives, and full day expeditions of the remoter reaches of the park.

On these longer safari trips tasty picnic lunches are usually arranged at areas of particular interest. Walking safaris and overnight expeditions with lightweight mobile camps can be arranged from July 2008 onwards, but must be pre-booked.
