Gombe Stream national park is located on the northern shores of Lake Tanganyika and measures only 52 sq km. It is Tanzania’s smallest park and its principal attractions are primates, particularly chimpanzees.

Brought to worldwide attention by the research of Jane Goodall in the late 1960s, Gombe has well over a hundred chimpanzees.

Many of these are habituated to humans. This allows you to observe them at close quarters as they go about their business oblivious to your presence – providing one of the most rewarding wildlife experiences in the world.
