Securing Gorilla Permits

With only around 800 mountain gorillas left in the world, seeing them in the wild is something only a few people will ever have the chance to experience. Trekking through dense vegetation and up steep slopes to get to the gorilla families is not easy, so we want to make the process leading up to the trip as easy as possible for you!

For each day you trek, you will need an official permit handled by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA). Bwindi has only about 40 permits available each day so they tend to get sold out far in advance, especially for popular times of the year.

In high season permits cost US$500 per person per day, but this decreases to US$350 per person per day during low season (March, April, May, October & November).
