Lake Bunyonyi

This tranquil freshwater lake is a relaxing stopping point on many safari itineraries. Lake Bunyonyi has over 20 small islands, and is surrounded by steep terraced hills. Activities include boat trips, canoeing, mountain biking and swimming – there are no hippos or crocodiles. A huge population of varied birdlife exists here too and Bunyonyi actually means lake of the little birds.
