From this camps we will show you the 'Real Africa', vast areas of untouched nature, unspoiled by mass tourism offer accommodation that meets everyone's needs.
Mukambi Safari Lodge offers several exciting activities. Game drives, walking safaris, boat cruises and fishing trips. All our activities are done by our fully licensed and very experiencd safari guides. The most exciting way to experience the African bush is a walking safari. On foot you are so much more aware of your surroundings.
You cannot get closer to nature. In spite of the old safari saying “Out off the vehicle, into the food chain”, you will be perfectly safe with our experienced guides. They will teach you everything about the bush: how to find water, what you can eat, what tracks you see, how to approach the different animal species and much more.
Kafue National Park is one of the biggest National Parks in the world and therefore has many different eco-systems and different species of mammals. In this chapter you can find the lists of mammal species, bird species and sightings.
With 158 different species, Kafue National Park has one of the highest diversities of mammal of all national parks in the world. Our birdlife is also spectacular. Over 515 species of birds inhabit the park and surrounding areas.
Wattled and crowned crane, saddle billed stork, ground horn bill, fish eagle, African finfoot and Chaplin’s Barbet to name a few. Every game drive is an adventure. You never know what you will encounter on the way. That is also the charm of the African bush.
What is really special about Kafue National Park is something you will not realize immediately, but only after a few hours of exploring: there is no mass tourism here. You might encounter one or two vehicles, or none, the whole day. This makes Kafue one of the last true wilderness areas in Africa.
