Providing a luxurious base from which to explore this beautiful area, accommodation consists of 10 Classic Suites and 4 Deluxe Suites.
The Classic Suites stand alone and are complete with shady verandas and en-suite baths with flush toilets and large showers. The large canvas tents nestle under mature trees and are all positioned for the maximum enjoyment of the surrounding views and complete privacy.
The Deluxe Suites are the epitome of the luxury safari experience. Two of the suites offer the same tented interior as the Classic Suites whilst also offering an outdoor bath and shower and plunge pool. A further two Deluxe Suites are then not tented and also have an indoor lounging area. Outdoors they offer a sala overlooking the river in addition to a shower and copper roll-top bath, sun loungers and private plunge pool.
The main lodge areas consist of a wide copper-roofed verandah providing an informal space for al fresco dining and timber decks extended over the river, perfect for sitting around the campfire listening to the sounds of the African night.
In the evening guests gather at the legendary Sausage Tree Bar, unquestionably the best watering hole on the river. Built around an ancient tree, its timber deck extends right out over the swiftly flowing channel.
Meals are made from the finest fresh ingredients and prepared by Royal Zambezi’s internationally acclaimed chef. Dinner is served at either the long banquet table or at private tables under the stars.
The Royal Zambezi Bush Spa has been inspired by the natural beauty surrounding the lodge and is Zambia’s first and only bush spa. Royal Zambezi pride themselves on the attentive, qualified therapists who are on hand to provide you with a wide variety of massages, facials and a host of other therapeutic and beauty skin care treatments. Many of these use local indigenous ingredients from the African bush.
The Zambezi River is one of the most important safari features in southern Africa. This region is heavily populated by hippos and crocodiles - its also renowned as a bird paradise with over 300 species having been recorded and is favored by sports fishermen in search of the famous Tiger Fish.
