Bilimungwe Bush Camp

Bilimungwe is a trail camp nestled in a riverine forest along the picturesque banks of the Luangwa River. The rustic dining area and fully stocked bar are constructed on raised decking with views of Bilimungwe's permanent water hole and abundant game.

The large open deck is shaded by a giant mahogany tree and offers fantastic game viewing opportunities at any time of the day or night. The surrounding forest of evergreen trees forms a majestic backdrop for those seeking the unique African experience.

The thatched dining canopy provides a cool and comfortable environment in which to enjoy watching the wild game that regularly frequent the well used waterhole.

The camp is made up of four very comfortable reed and thatch chalets all with en-suite showers, toilet and double vanities. The chalets are situated on the edge of the bush and are regularly visited by wildlife. Each chalet has two queen sized double beds with large mosquito nets and an individual rechargeable lighting system.

Bilimungwe’s four raised thatched rooms have been carefully designed to ensure the height of comfort whilst still retaining that authentic bushcamp feel. The tangle of mature mahogany trees that surround camp are echoed in the rich, wood interiors and the beautiful wooden furniture, handmade by local artisans.

Bright African textiles bring splashes of colour to the elegant rooms. After an early morning game drive, head back to your room for a refreshing, open-air waterfall shower, or continue the wildlife spectacle from your private deck.

Two of the chalets have twin beds (queen-sized beds) and two have doubles (king-sized bed).

Take advantage of the exceptional knowledge and charm of resident guide Manda Chisanga, and head out with him on a combination of walking safaris, day and night game drives, and sundowners on the river’s edge. In between outings, find a chair and enjoy the wildlife magnets that are Bilimungwe’s three permanent waterholes.
