Chamilandu Camp offers travellers the classic African adventure. Chamilandu walking safaris are a constant mix of awe and information, excitement and inspiration. Subtle décor adorns the three 2-meter high tree house chalets. With only 3 two meter high tree house chalets the camp caters for all safari tastes, offering a combination of both morning and evening walks and day and night game drives.

Chamilandu’s three exquisite tree-houses perch right on the edge of the Luangwa River. Each has its own raised veranda to loll on during the heat of the day, and an open-fronted en-suite bathroom with the same magnificent views over the tranquil waters.

Two of the tree-houses have twin beds (queen-sized beds) and one has a double (king-sized bed). With capacity for just six guests, this is the perfect camp for small groups. Chamilandu is open from June to November.

There are just three stilted chalets at this exclusive camp, set on the riverbank beneath a soaring ebony grove. Enjoy a sundowner from the comfort of the thatched bar and dining area, as you watch the wildlife do the same at the river. After a dawn walk, enjoy a hearty brunch then relax before a late afternoon game drive.

Each Chalet has a bird’s eye view over the waters of the Luangwa River and Nchindeni Hills. A series of seven ox-bow lagoons yield a diversity of species and attract abundant wildlife.

Walking safaris and game drives around Chamilandu explore the impressive range of habitats in the area and there are always thirsty animals around seeking refreshment in the lagoons.

One of the hides looks out over one of these lagoons and is the perfect place to take lunch, tea or to while away an afternoon in a hammock to the soundtrack of bathing elephant.
