Kapani accommodates just 18 guests and is open throughout the year. This is an ideal place from which to start your Zambian safari experience and enjoy great game drives, night drives and visits to the villages and our community projects.

Above all else the wildlife gameviewing in the area close to this camp is as good as you will find anywhere in Zambia, if not Africa.

Accommodation consists of eight standard suites and two new Lagoon Houses, 20 beds all in all. The brick chalets have thatched roofs, spacious living areas, luxurious interiors and walk-in mosquito nets.

Each of the eight standard suites has its own lounge with bar fridge and the beds have overhead fans inside their walk-in mosquito nets.

The Lagoon House is even more spacious with private views and is ideal for honeymooners or a family group looking for a little more space and seclusion.It is the ideal place for people to spend their first nights in the Luangwa, before moving on to the more rustic bushcamps. There is a main chitenge with a bar and lounge area.

The location of the camp in the main Mfuwe area of the South Luangwa ensures an excellent safari experience at all times of the year. The game drives and walks from this camp are as good as you will find in any of Zambia's National Parks.

Norman Carr is the ground operator for this safari lodge. Norman Carr is a conservation legend in the Luangwa Valley. He pioneered walking safaris in the Zambian bush in the 1950s and is widely regarded as the father of walking safaris. He spent over 50 years devoting himself to the development of the South Luangwa National Park. He built Kapani Lodge in 1986 and lived there until his death in 1996.

Norman Carr Safaris have four other bush camps: Nsolo, Kakuli, Luwi and Mchenja within the South Luangwa area.
