Stanley Safari Lodge is on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River and has eight luxury cottages, each individually designed and decorated in local materials. Each cottage has a private garden and dining area and a number also have private plunge pools.

All the cottages are open fronted with direct views over the Victoria Falls National Park and the mighty Zambezi, however they do have canvas blinds that can be drawn down if you prefer the comfort of four walls rather than three.

The main house overlooks a large swimming pool and has a dining area specialising in a French cuisine.

There is also a lounge with a cosy fireplace and many a deck chair and parasol scattered around the well kept lawns.

The range of activities in the Livingstone area (including the Victoria Falls) is enormous. All of these activities do involve, at least to a certain extent, the Victoria Falls or the Zambezi River.

You can see the Falls from across the gorge or from Livingstone Island. Or you can opt for a helicopter flight or microlight to enjoy the Falls from above.

Or you might want to go on the river for a sunset cruise, river safari, canoe trip or, for the more adventurous, go rafting on one of the best rafting trips in the world.

If you didn’t have enough adventure you can go for a bungee jump, gorge swing or abseil. And for wildlife you can go to Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park in Zambia, Chobe National Park in Botswana or Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Up close and personal you can get during an elephant ride or lion walk.
